I purchased this popper and LOVE how it pops the popcorn. The only problem is that 75% of the time it seems to overheat our microwave (Magic Chef) and it totally shuts the power off. It always comes back on but I am a bit worried that in time it might damage the microwave. I DID call customer service (Nordicware) and without any hesitation offered to send me a new one which they did immediately, so I have to give excellent marks to the customer service. I would give the popper a 5 for its popping ability, just can't because of the issue with my microwave but I seem to be the only one posting who has had this problem and now I will contact Magic Chef.Customer Review: I was surprised how well this works!

We're trying to cut back on oil and salt and its really hard to find no-salt microwave popcorn. Now we use this popper instead and just leave out the salt and it tastes MUCH better than any popcorn bag I've tried. You can't even tell its microwaved, it tastes just like you got a pan out and did it the old fashioned way!
Warning: When ordering through Polsteins Home & Beyond most of the time the transaction goes smoothly. Occasionally though, there will be a problem with an order and they simply do not have adequate customer support to resolve the issue. 10% of their lifetime reviews are negative and they seem satisfied with that number.

For a person who enjoys popcorn and eats it regularly, this is a good purchase. If you want to reduce the cost versus bag popcorn while getting the convenience of the bag, this model is the answer. The flavor is great and the costs are excellent. The cooking bowl doubles as a serving bowl and it and the lid are dishwasher safe.
Four tablespoons of unpopped corn works best; offering the greatest capacity with the fewest unpopped kernals and no overheating of the popped corn. Use just enough oil to soak the corn without pooling and cook it for 2:45 or so, depending on your microwave. It works as well with Act II as with Orville Redenbacher's.

I bought this popper when my Presto Power Popper gave out (cover split).
I wanted to try Nordicware to see if there was a difference in the popcorn, because I liked the idea of not needing to buy power pads which are hard to find in stores.
I usually add a tsp. of canola oil and 1/4 cup of popcorn, and time it about 4 minutes. You do have to listen and remove the popper when the popping starts to slow down so it doesn't burn. (I still haven't tried it without oil) Most of the kernals pop, and those that don't pop can be repopped. This popcorn is the best I've had in a long time & I love this popper. I have popcorn every day!

The Nordic Ware Corn Popper is good for those who would like to eat popcorn in it's healthiest form (which is why I bought it). It's nice because theirs virtually no clean up because oil is not necessary for popping. It's best put about a 1/4 cup of popping corn in and cook only small portions at a time, if you put in anymore, then most of it will be overcooked. You shouldn't eat more than that amount any ways because corn is a common allergen which can cause breathing problems, hives, and gastrointestinal upsets, if you eat a ton of it. Any ways, my only problem with this product is that it's big and tends to wear out your microwave. But it works.
