Lid opens when you get close making it much easier to throw trash out when your hands are full! I hate it when you are cooking or cleaning and your hands are full and you have to try and open the trashcan. With this trashcan, you just get near it and the lid opens, you throw the trash in, and the lid closes! It's also nice because there is no flap to push that gets all disgusting and germy. The lid is great if you have a pet, the trash stays put and Fido can't get into it! The bonus is the trash doesn't smell, and if you have your trash can sitting out in the open, this one looks stylish. This trash can uses the latest in Infrared Motion Sensor Technology which allows you to have little or no contact with the trash. By avoiding contact with the trash the chance of contracting germs is decreased. Also great for the physically challenged since the opening of the lid occurs by detecting motion. Motion sensor technology detects motion within ten inches. The location of the sensor insures that the lid doesn't open each time a person or animal gets near the can. Its on top, and motion must be above the sensor in order to activate the lid, once your hand is out of range, the lid automatically closes.
