This thing is flat out wonderful -- wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I bought a KitchenAid 6-quart stand mixer in December (the first stand mixer I have owned) and was surprised at how poorly the standard paddle attachment mixed doughs -- I was constantly stopping the mixer and using a spatula to push the dough down of the sides of the bowl, only to have it immediately ball up on the paddle and smear against the bowl sides. I just received this Beater Blade and used it to mix a batch of ciabatta dough, and couldn't believe my eyes -- complete, thorough, and nearly immediate mixing with no balling up at all, and clean sides of the bowl. I wish I had this beater years ago. I can not believe how wonderful it is to beat cakes, quick breads, muffins, etc. My biggest complaint of my 6quart mixer was that the beater did not touch the bottom of the bowl. I would have to stop the mixer and use a scraper on the sides and the bottom. It was just easier to use my hand mixer. Now I love my stand mixer and can prepare the recipe while it is mixing. It is so much easier. I am so glad my son sent me this as a Christmas gift. I like it so much, I ordered one as a gift for my best friend. Thank you for inventing I hope it will last as long as I like the working performance.Customer Review: Good so far

I bought this one as a replacement for my other flat beater since the coating had come off. I haven't used this beater long enough to know how durable it is though. It's nice that it scrapes the sides for you, I'm not sure how well it fits for my bowl since at some points it seems to scrape marginally more than others- but it's not really a problem, its' still pretty effective at scraping and beating. It's a little annoying to wash where the rubber meets the plastic, but all of these attachments are. I believe at the time I bought it, it was only 5 or 10 more than the original replacement which was worth it to me. Good value! I hope it'll last long.Customer Review: LOVE IT!

I love this product! I have the 6qt pro bowl lift model. When making a wet batter, such as a cake batter, it is not uncommon for ingredients to get stuck to the sides or (especially) the bottom of the bowl, this can be especially frustrating when you go to pour your batter into the prepared pans, only to find a good chunk of un-incorporated ingredients at the bottom. This product fixes that problem and scrapes the sides for you as well, this makes it easier for the ingredients to come together and I no longer have to try to scrape with a rubber scrapper by hand, this is one of my favorite Kitchenaid accessories!Customer Review: Beater Blade for KitchenAid 6-Qt Mixer

This product really works and is my second time purchasing one. I had one for my first 5-quart tilt head KitchenAid mixer and when I upgraded to a 6-quart bowl lift I had to purchase a one for that mixer too! Just remember you might have to adjust the bowl lift mechanism on your mixer if it doesn't catch the bowl bottom.
It continuously scrapes the sides of the bowl as its mixing and eliminates the need for you to stop the action and do it manually. I like that as that frees up my time to do other things like measure dry or liquiud ingredients and prep pans, etc. I think you'll love it too!
