I am an avid baker who used my KitchenAid Professional 600 mixer at least once a week, usually more. One of my only gripes with the mixer is having to stop, lower the bowl, and scrape, often many times while making a batter or dough. And usually, a knuckle would be scraped during the process! This new beater blade is absolutely fantastic! I read the prior reviews on it and figured, what the heck...I won't be out a lot of dough (sorry!) if it doesn't work quite as well as I want. Well, I was pleasantly surprised the first time I used it. It scraped the bowl and did a great job of mixing everything together. You do have to stop maybe once or twice and scrape the blade itself to make sure everything gets incorporated. But overall, it has cut the time it takes to mix the ingredients. I am using it for everything...cookie dough, quick bread batters, frosting (wonderful for frosting!!!).... It's probably the best kitchen gadget I've bought in years. I liked this product because it cuts mixing time. When your doing bigger jobs, such as those that the 6 qt handles this is your friend, in a time crunch. This product deserves an award for Best Kitchen Gadget Innovation of the year. I also love it because although it's a light weight plastic, it doesn't chip like the coating on the good quality kitchenaid beaters when you tap them on the side of the bowl to get the batter off. I don't like the burnish beaters that come with the 6qt because they are not dishwasher safe and these are. But don't let the light weight plastic fool you into thinking it can't handle thick batters, it can! This was a perfect fit for my 6 qt mixer.I wrote a review for the smaller beater blade as well because I like the product so much I included another review here after using both beater blades.Customer Review: Why didn't Kitchen Aid come up with this?

After reading the reviews, I decided to give this a try for my new 6 qt Kitchen Aid. It has not disappointed me. I have used it for frosting, cookie dough and bread dough. It worked great! I can't believe Kitchen Aid has not produced these as an accessory to the mixers. I have now ordered one for my old 5 qt. Kitchen Aid (which still works like a horse after 30 years of use and abuse by me making bread dough with it.) I have also ordered one for each of my sisters for their new 6 qt. Kitchen Aids.
The only drawback I can see, is the use of plastic for the blade. I question how it will hold up with the heavy doughs, like bread dough and cookie dough.

After a little swapping--the BeaterBlade my husband bought me for Christmas didn't fit my Professional5 Plus stand mixer--I finally got the right BeaterBlade and I love it. It can be frustrating when using my stand mixer to have to stop and scrape the bowl all the time, but those days are over! The BeaterBlade works so well that I wish I'd had it all along. If you use this attachment for what it is intended, you will wonder what you ever did without it. Make sure you get the right BeaterBlade for your model--Beater Blade's website can tell you which one you need--but do not be afraid to buy one of these. When I purchased my Kitchenaid pro 5 plus mixer I thought all of my mixing problems would be solved. WRONG! I hated my mixer until I found this item. Now I am looking for things to mix up! This works great and NO bowl scraping required. I've made everything from cookies to mashed potatoes and this blade is a lifesaver. I can't believe Kitchenaid let someone else come up with this nifty idea. I have no use for the paddle blade that came with my mixer-it is packed away and I don't imagine I will ever use it again. This item might seem expensive but it is well worth the money especially when you condiser how much your mixer costs-might as well use it to it's fullest.
