Customer Review: Food Catches on the Bottom of the Slicer Slot and Tears

I bought this slicer primarily for meats. It works very well for that purpose. But when I started baking my own bread I began to use it to pre-slice the loaves for sandwiches and toast. Unfortunately the lip on the bottom of the slicer slot protrudes slightly, probably to ease the slice away from the machine. With bread, though, it causes it to catch in the opening between the blade and the back, and I have to readjust the thickness dial to the maximum in order to remove each slice. Often it tears the slice anyway. Not a particularly helpful feature. I'm not sure if another slicer would work better, but this one is really frustrating.
