Nesco is a god awful company, they refuse to stand
by their junk that catches fires!!!
As others have mentioned, the drive belt melts,
its no wonder they tell you not to leave the machine
alone, turn your head, and poof! Fire. I had to get
the fire extinguisher! The auger and
plastic all melted. All models new & old still catch
fire. Just like the older zach & deni roaster made
by Nesco. Buyer be very aware! Your roaster WILL
one day catch fire, or overheat and melt!!!

I received this roaster as a gift last year. I had no prior experience at home roasting. This roaster was easy to use right out of the box. My first roast was good and with alittle research I was able to perfect my roast. After a year of regular roasting (1 to 2 batches a week) it still works great. I'm hoping it breaks so my wife will let me upgrade to a roaster the has more controls, but I don't think that is going to happen any time soon. I'm still using it and it's still a great little roaster.Customer Review: Mine burnt up in a week

I have been roasting beans at home for about five years and my Freshroast machine finally quit. The Nesco was a birthday present. It warns you not to leave it unwatched but it is so noisy I had to put it out on the patio. I cleaned it with a brush after each use. After one week of use the auger must have frozen up and the beans caught on fire destroying the cup and I'm sure making the machine unusable.
I would never buy this machine again. It's back to a Freshroast machine for me.

I've been using this NESCO roaster for about 10 months, and decided to replace it before it explodes. After only several months of ownership, it started making a lot of noise and vibrations. Since I'm an engineer I couldn't help but take it apart; I found several parts had worn out and were coming loose. I concluded that the entire thing is poorly designed, cheaply made (using plastic and tin), and an accident waiting to happen. I have been using home coffee roaster for several years. The reason I ordered this one was because de IRoast 2 has been out the market for some time and my was damage after three years of constant use, was really good. This Nesco CR-1010-PRR was not good: very bulky, difficult to clean, too much time to do a very little amound of coffee, not worthy!!
I am doing the roasting at present with a popcorn roaster of Cuisinart and it is much better.
