I received this pressure cooker 3 years ago after researching and requesting it. I dearly LOVE it! I looked this morning to see about how to replace the pot. I must confess that I didn't always use a non-metal utensil in the pot and consequently after using it at least once a week for the last 3 years, I have damaged it. I was dismayed to hear of the trouble purchasing parts mentioned in some reviews. However, using the Nesco customer service number I found on the internet, within 15 minutes I had ordered a replacement pot, to be received within 2 weeks for about $20 plus shipping! What a deal. This pot cooks perfectly whether slow cooking, pressure cooking, browning, I haven't found anything it doesn't do well. Even gave the same model as a gift. If you are a busy home maker who sometimes neglects to thaw out dinner before getting home from work, you need this cooker. I can even pressure cook a meal from frozen within an hour or less. I bought this unit and absolutely love it. We live in a house with an ancient gas cooktop. It has two temperatures: high and high. I try to use small appliances as much as I can, both because of the cooktop and to reduce energy usage.
I received my cooker within 3 days. Unfortunately, someone had bashed it in and I had to return it. Amazon was incredibly great about this and made it as painless as possible. They even shipped the replacement before they received the return.
I have used all the features of this cooker - slow cooking, pressure cooking, browning, and steaming. I am so pleased to say I will probably rarely have to use the gas cooktop again. I'll use it only for things that need a wide area to fry or saute. My only problem: I'm 4'10" and when on the counter top, this is too deep for me to look into. Of course, that's a problem for me with almost everything!
This pressure cooker exceeds my needs in every way and if very easy to use.

I've had my unit for almost 2 years now and it has gotten so much more use than I ever expected I would get out of it, both with pressure cooking and slow cooking (which I love).
About 6 months ago, I foolishly left the lid on the stove top ,too close to a burner and it melted a section of the plastic. While I probably could have used it without issue, I was too afraid to, and put off looking into getting a replacement lid because I thought it would be ridiculously expensive.
Finally I decided to just see and called up customer service to inquire. The woman was exceedingly polite and helpful, and best of all, replacing the lid was only $20! A small price to pay for my own stupidity so that I could continue using it as frequently as I do. It was shipped out and received in short order, so once again, I have to compliment the customer service I received.
This has been one of my best kitchen buys in years.
Customer Review: Worst Customer Service I've Ever Experienced!

I had a Nesco 6 qt electric pressure cooker for a year and a half before it exploded boiling water over my entire kitchen and me. Even though I inspected the sealing gasket before each use, it failed. Being thankful that no one was hurt, I figured I'd just buy a new gasket from Nesco. Wrong.
Nesco no longer supports my cooker and doesn't sell the gaskets anymore. Apparently their supplier went out of business. No problem. I figured Nesco wouldn't leave a loyal customer with a useless cooker. Wrong again!
My expensive pressure cooker was used for only a year and a half and it is now unusable. Nesco offered no alternatives--no parts, no discount on a new machine, nothing. And their customer service department was extremely unhelpful.
I would strongly suggest that anyone willing to pay this much money for a pressure cooker look to a different company. I will NEVER BUY FROM NESCO again.

Meats of all kinds, root vegetables, collard greens, beans, soup base - this pressure cooker does it all. Saves electricity and it does not heat up your kitchen. I recommended it to an Elk hunter, he put a big chunk of elk meat in this thing and it was fork-tender in 45 minutes. For many applications, there is just no substitute for high pressure steam. It is completely sealed during cooking, no moisture is lost. I open the valve with a long wooden spoon, the steam pressure is regulated electronically, at the end of the cooking cycle the pressure is quite high. Check to make sure the inner pot is in the machine [both the inner pot and the inside surface of the machine have the same non-stick coating and look similar.] If you fill the machine and start it without the inner pot in place, the food and water will get down into the circuit board, and it will never work again, ...been there, done that; we had to buy a new one.
