I bought this for my college aged son who loves beef jerky. He wanted to make his own. It works great! He liked it so much he also tried apples and mangos too. Works great. The grates can be a little hard to clean after making the jerky, but the effort is worth the final results. It is a great product for producing snacks with no preservatives.Customer Review: Great item!

When I have decided to get a food dehydrator I was out of luck finding one in regular stores. Therefore getting it from Amazon was handy.
Jerky was absolutely amazing! I never had anything like this before. Easy to make and VERY delicious.
Apples also came out good.
Bottom line: great product for fair price.

This was purchased as a birthday present or my husband. He used it to make very delicious venison jerky--from the deer he had bagged during deer hunting here in Michigan. This is a very good dehydrator. It dries fast and comes with everything you need to make great tasting jerky. I haven't tried drying fruit yet but I'm sure I will be as pleased with the results as I was with the jerky. This is my first dehydrator, so I cannot compare. I made jerky with it once and it was ready relatively quickly (10 hrs) and really good. I was wondering why none of the pieces are non-stick, since this would probably make using the dehydrator much easier, but as far as I know it is like that with most models.
