Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Mug / Coffee Cup Warmer

Customer Review: Not hot enough!
Summary: 2 Stars

I like my coffee piping hot and bought this because it has two settings, "hot" and "warm." I haven't even bothered with the warm, but the hot is pretty lackluster. I'm still looking for a cup/mug warmer that keeps coffee HOT! This must be some sort of McDonald's-style litigation/risk management issue--can't make it too hot, or the customer will burn her tongue and sue. Sigh. The search continues.

Customer Review: Stay Away From This Product
Summary: 1 Stars

I thought this was going to be a great item to have on my desk at work... until I plugged it in. It gives off a horrible, noxious burning plastic oder that frankly gave me a headache and made me ill. People were walking by asking what was burning. I thought it would go away then I read the reviews. I'm not the first to notice this. I am returning it ASAP.

Customer Review: Not worth the high price
Summary: 3 Stars

This warmer looks nice on my desk, but it isn't the greatest. It has two settings, but I couldn't see using the "Low" setting. The "High" setting keeps my coffee warm, not hot. It also puts off a smell of hot metal. The smell may wear off eventually, I've only had it about a month. I would buy one of the less expensive warmers if I had it to do over again.

Customer Review: Brookstone Cup Warmer
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very happy with my cup warmer. Maybe the quality varies, but the high setting on mine keeps my coffee hot. I use the low setting when there is just a little left in the cup; otherwise, it makes it too hot. I have had no problem with this product, and have not noticed a metallic smell which was mentioned in another review.

Customer Review: A truly terrible product
Summary: 1 Stars

This is a truly terrible product that should be recalled. Placed on my credenza it burned 4 holes in the finish where the pads are located on the warmer. The switch doesn't work all that well. It overheats and the metal housing can cause a burn. One of the few products I've bought through Amazon that I am sorry I bought.
