Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Mug / Coffee Cup WarmerCustomer Review: do not buy releases fumes Summary: 1 Stars
After 2 uses, I realized the noxious smell was from the heating surface. Had to open windows to clear the smell from the room. The cord and base were not overheated..just the black surface your cup sits on.
Agree with other reviewers, the low setting is useless..the high setting did keep my cup warm, although it would depend on the thickness or density of your mug. Mine was a Longanberger mug..pretty dense pottery. I noticed the coffee in the less expensive mug stayed warmer. Will return this item to the store with feedback for an improved material which does not outgass fumes.
Customer Review: Very Useful! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a gift for my mother who is battling cancer and she absolutly loves it. It is the most Useful product I have ever purchased. My mother must spend a lot of time resting so she keeps this warmer by her side to keep her coffee, tea and broth hot. Just the way she likes it... She has never been more pleased with any other gift. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs or likes to keep their beverages, soups or broths warm either at their desk or next to their favorite chair. Particulary useful in cold climates where liquids go cold quickly...
Customer Review: Disappointed - barely keeps tea warm Summary: 2 Stars
I was really looking forward to getting this warmer; I wanted the Brookstone warmer b/c I normally associate the brand with good functionality and quality. However, similar to the other reviewers, I found this product very disappointing. I can't imagine using the "low" setting given that the "high" setting keeps my tea only luke warm and not warm enough for me to enjoy. From the info on the base of the warmer, it looks like it is a 21 W heating element. I'm going to return the product back to the store. Wish I had read reviews before purchasing it.
Customer Review: It stinks Summary: 1 Stars
This item stinks. If you keep it off, it stays slightly warm at the spot, where cord enters the body and releases bad smell, but you can feel only if you are very close. If you turn it on 'Low' - you can feel that smell far away, if you make it 'High' - you have have to go to another room and your drink is getting fumigated with burned rubber / plastic. So, drink is getting non-drinkable. This item will go back to store tomorrow regardless it's pleasant appearance.
Customer Review: Fantastic, no smell problem Summary: 5 Stars
I love this thing. I almost didn't buy it because some reviewers said it smelled bad. I ended up getting it at the local store so I could return it just in case. Two months later I haven't smelled a thing other than the coffee. It's as hot as any of the other warmers I've used. If you want one that doesn't look terrible it's well worth the price. I bought one of the cheap plastic ones and had to get it off of my desk within a week.
