i agree with doctor mod if you don't feel the need to filter water for coffee then don't.
but, i can tell you from my work experience at a big box coffee house chain is that our water is triple filtered for all of the drinks we make. we have customers who want to emulate our coffee at home. our customers go to great lengths to try and emulate our coffee....they buy various coffee beans and various expensive machines..and still come back to us because in their words "they can not duplicate the taste/flavor at home."....now, we at the coffee house, don't have special coffee makers or magical beans...the only thing we at the coffee house can guess is that the triple filtering of the water makes a difference.
so, why not have at least one water filtration system between you and your morning brew?
this sure is more cost affective than the triple filtration system that is used by the the big box coffee house.
