After buying the Mr. Coffee JWX9 5-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black with Stainless Steel Carafe the only thing missing to make that coffee maker perfect was a permanent filter. I made a guess that the 4 cup permanent filter would fit... and it does!
I use regular old Folgers Colombian coffee in the filter, not the finest ground coffee but I don't see any of it escaping. Unlike a Black and Decker that I owned, this filter has plastic on the bottom, forcing the coffee out the sides of the filter when being made (something I'm told is important to a good permanent filter).
Cleanup is not annoying for me since I have a garbage disposal that I rinse it out into, but I imagine it could be a pain without one.
All and all, happy not to have to buy and waste paper filters.
