Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Moving Men 1545-12 8-Piece Furniture Slider SetCustomer Review: Moving Men Did it For Me! Summary: 5 Stars
I have very heavy furniture in my master bedroom. I needed to move the furniture and knew I couldn't without help. Being very independent and not wanting to ask for help, I ordered the Moving Men Slider set. I easily slipped the larger disks under the heavier furniture and the smaller disks under the lighter items. With the slider disks in place, I easily moved the furniture and repositioned it without any help. I would recommend these to anyone who would need to move furniture for cleaning, painting, or just to have a change in their furniture placement.
Customer Review: Work Perfectly Summary: 5 Stars
These disks work perfectly. The larger disk is quite large, the undersides of both sized discs are hard plastic, and the lips cup upward slightly. The orange section is cushiony yet rugged. I slipped the larger discs under a very troublesome piece of furniture I have to move regularly over carpet to vacuum behind, and it slid perfectly. I left the discs there, as they are hidden, and it slides great everytime I move this piece. Very inexpensive, yet great quality. They come in a very nice box as the companys' packaging, and I'm glad I bought them.
Customer Review: Great on carpet Summary: 4 Stars
I don't have problems moving heavy objects on hard floors. (I usually slide a rug or towel underneath and scoot the monster across the floor.) Moving over carpet is my problem--if you're not careful, you can stretch and mess up your carpet. (Voice of experience here.) This clever device works great. There's not much to these little gizmos. They're slick plastic on one side and foam on the other. I have an extremely heavy huge antique mahogany desk that takes at least two stout folks to move, but I can move it alone with these sliders underneath.
Customer Review: Not the best example of this type of product Summary: 2 Stars
These are not ideal for wood floors. I recommend the type that look like muppets - they are much easier to get under the furniture and glide better.
After moving three pieces of furniture, these sliders look four years old - scratched, dirty and indented from the weight. The white lip is curved up slightly, which makes it hard to slip under, and harder for me to do solo - and I'm no weakling.
I think there are better examples of this product, especially the furry ones that I got at Home Depot for our house in NJ.
Customer Review: Alternate uses Summary: 3 Stars
The products are OK. They could be a bit thicker on the plastic and a bit more durable on the padding. They are bit "flimsier" for the furniture and heavy items.
We use them on lots of items and leave them these so we can move the heavy ottomans and recliners around. We have about 8 sets of these items some predate this brand. The early ones are not white and orange but dark beige with black inserts. These are better for the visible furniture. Perhaps Moving Men would make a version for constant use instead of just rare use.
