Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Moving Men 1545-12 8-Piece Furniture Slider SetCustomer Review: So simple yet so effective. Summary: 5 Stars
The idea behind this product is so simple it makes you think "I should have thought of this". It seems that whenever I need to move something heavy there is no one around to help. Using these, I have been able to move many different furniture items, from big sofas to tall bookcases, all by myself. I have only used them on carpeted floors.
The only problem I have encountered using this product is when I need to move the furniture up against the wall and into a tight spot. It becomes difficult to remove the moving men when I'm done. An extra person in this situation really helps. But, this is not a flaw with the product so I still give it 5 stars.
Customer Review: MAGIC SLIDERS ARE BETTER Summary: 1 Stars
These are too big and slip off the furniture - they appear to be made of flimsy plastic. I like Magic Sliders, which I have used in the past, much better - they really are like magic and work perfectly on wood floors as well as carpet. The kind that are self stick and stick to the furniture legs are the best - others have to be tacked on which is impossible when you have to get them under a heavy piece of furniture. I couldn't tell from the description which kind Amazon was selling so I tried these instead,to my regret. I should have taken the negative reviews more seriously. I will now have to go to a local store and look for Magic Sliders.
Customer Review: Work smarter.. not harder Summary: 5 Stars
These are fantastic! I worked as an operations manager for a call center, which required me to move desks around all the time. With the help of these, I was able to slide the desks anywhere I needed them without the help of someone else. They also work great on filing cabinets, printers.. really anything you need moved. The bottom of these sliders is a heavy plastic, so I wouldn't suggest moving these across tile or hardwood flooring as it may leave marks, however, they have special ones for hardwood flooring that have felt instead of plastic on the bottom. Why break your back moving heavy furniture when you can simply scoot it along?
Customer Review: Best helpers all around Summary: 5 Stars
These little "men" are the best when it comes to moving all sorts of items. Just last week I used them to move my Christmas decoration boxes piled on top of each other from one room to the other. They saved me all that walking and lifting, box after box. Arranging furnitre to moving the dining room table away from the wall, they work great. The only downfall I can think of for these little guys would be having to lift / pick up the items to get them under. But I found if you put them on the floor and tilt or lift up the item, using your feet you can scoot them under where you need them to be. Great gift idea for older people.
Customer Review: Women's best friend... Summary: 5 Stars
Moving that desk? The sofa? If you can get someone to lift up the legs (assuming you need help) these teflon pads are a miracle. Slide them under the legs of the table or sofa and push across a rug like a sledge in the fine snow. Wheee!!!! And they prevent scratching the floor ...as long as you wipe the floor first to keep grit from under the pads.
I'd say these are a must-have in any home, and I'd recommend them as a housewarming gift. Get two sets and you will make a memorable impression for anyone as a practical, thoughtful person. And get a set for yourself. These are terrific.
