Customer Review: Beware of packaging

The benefits of this pizza cutter are unique; Mainly it's non-marring and nicely separates the pieces as they're cut. It also doubles as a spatula and as someone else suggested, can be used to slice other foods too (pie, pastry, quiche, etc.)
Since the pizza cutter by itself was only a few $$ less than the peel / cutter set this purchase was a no-brainer and I would have given it 5-stars if not for the dings along the edge of the blade and peel due to the poor packaging and rough shipping it apparently had to survive. It arrived inside a large, bubble-wrap envelope that had been taped along its seam and then taped around the envelope to reinforce the spots where the peel and envelope met. One would think if they were going to ship it in an envelope that they would at least have marked it as 'FRAGILE'. One would think... If it weren't for the fact that it was made of wood and cost less than $25, I'd return it but since it is made of wood, I was able to file down the lumps on either side of the cutter that the ding created (then veggie oiled it). The overall damage to the cutter was actually minimal but it could easily have been worse based on the packaging it arrived in. I just left the peel alone since it will likely see new dings very soon anyway but it had obviously absorbed most of the impact since it had more dings (4) than the cutter (one ding at top of blade).
Despite the damage, this was still a great purchase and I'd recommended it for any home kitchen, but I'd make sure to put a note to the seller to mark it 'FRAGILE' if they intend to ship it in an envelope.
