I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother who is in college. It was probably the best gift that I have bought him in my life! He just left today and the family is definitely going to miss this item! We used it endlessly before he left, and his roommates are looking forward to having this in their apartment! It NEVER closes all the way, unless you put a sprinkling of cheese! It will close for a normal sized quesadilla after the cheese and things have melted a little. Just press down on it slightly until the handle locks down.
Packaging was a little odd. The actual box that the maker comes in (pretty sure its in one of the photos) was just put into another box and shipped, so it was banged around during shipping, but the packing within the actual box was done very well so there was no damage.
The only thing wrong with it was that it came with a couple small scratches on the nonstick surface that did not come from shipping, probably just a mistake when it was made.
Other than those two things I was very pleased with my purchase, as was my brother, and will probably buy another one in the near future! Package arrived on-time, but no shipping information was provided which was a bummer.
100% recommend this item to any quesadilla lover!
