Customer Review: Ozeri v Bodum double wall glasses

I really like the Bodum Pavina glasses and periodically buy new ones to replace those that break. I recently discovered the Ozeri glasses. After the first purchase from Amazon, Ozeri emailed a 30% promotional code. With that, the Ozeris cost about half as much as Bodums.
The Ozeris, made in China, look very similar to the Bodums. They are a bit heavier and appear to have thicker glass. Unlike the Bodums, the airspace between the Ozeri double walls appears to be hermetically sealed, so they must experience the pressure-cycling effect to a higher degree than the Bodums. Time will tell if that is an issue. Side by side, they look almost identical. The dimples in the Ozeri's do not appear to serve any function, aesthetic or ergonomic - and i am guessing that they may have been only necessary to work around patent issues. I ran a side-by-side test of the Ozeri and Bodum glasses, by pouring equal volumes of hot water of certain temperature simultaneously in an Ozeri and Bodum glass, and measuring the temperature decay over time. I used an infrared thermometer to measure the surface temperature of the water, the bulk temperature (after mixing), and the outside temperature of the glass. After three tests I did not see any significant differences between the Bodum and the Ozeri. The Ozeri's outside wall temperature was a few degrees F higher than that of the Bodum's, however the liquid temperature decay rates were identical. Given that the Ozeri's were 50% cheaper and appear less fragile, I am planning to buy those in the future, despite the dimples.
