The Misto is good fun, but there are steel cans on the shelves of supermarkets that do the same job as the Misto.
Reasons for getting the Misto:
In time, it will be less expensive than previously mentioned cans.
Great for environment. You're not buying tons of cans of above.
Exactly the oil you want... You aren't locked into certain types, any oil goes well.
Reasons for not getting the Misto:
Above can: open lid - spray. Misto: pump pump pump - spray.
Expensive in the short term.
A little messy as a DIY item.
All things considered, I do use mine and like it.

and get one of these. It was a little touchy until we learned the ropes, but if you follow the instructions it does just what it's supposed to do - at a reasonable price.
Getting used to how far to fill it and how much to pump it took a few tries, but it works just fine. Don't ever fill it over HALF full with oil. The container has to have room for the air you're pumping in or it won't spray. Also, depending on how many times you pump it, it sometimes delivers a very fine mist compared to a product like 'Pam'. Just go over the cooking surface a few more times and think of the money you're saving on cooking sprays.

This olive oil sprayer is great. It works on everything we need olive oil for and it distributes the product evenly. The spray goes on evenly and lightly, which is the most important. This is perfect when you don't want globs of olive oil.
I especially like that I no longer purchase the single cans. It seems so wasteful. This is a great replacement for the can after can of Pam's Olive Oil. I didn't even know all of the secrets to keeping the sprayer working properly until I saw the reviews.
I have purchased several of these for the cooks in my family and they have all appreciated them.

Works great, especially with olive oil, but there are a couple of tricks to getting the most out of it. First, fill it only half way. Second, if you twist the top after each use to release the pressure you can avoid clogging problems. My first one lasted only a year or so because I had not learned that 'releasing the pressure' trick and the nozzle got irreparably clogged. Even hot soapy water didn't fix the problem. A chef friend of mine told me how to avoid the trouble. Since then, the replacement has been going strong for over two years now. Nice even spray with no clogging. Great gadget. We've had the Misto Olive Oil Sprayer for several years now and love it! It delivers a fine, even spray with just a few pumps to pressurize. We've never had any clogging or any of the other problems some have mentioned. It's a nice design so it looks good sitting out, it's easy to clean and has been very dependable.
I often make paninis as a fast meal before heading out to work and instead of buttering the bread I spritz it with olive oil with this mister. I also use this sprayer when just a touch of oil is needed in a pan or on a salad. It has worked great for us and I highly recommend it.
