We have enjoyed Mikasa Sweet Pea stainless flatware for nearly a year, and it is simply superb. It is pleasing to the eye, extremely popular, substantial, well-balanced, elegant, easy to hold and maneuver and is comfortable to the hand (regardless of size). This pattern transitions from casual dining to a more formal table with ease. Our set still retains its highly-polished appearance after a year of daily use and dishwasher cycles, and the design prevents handles from sliding down through flatware basket spaces when placed handle-side-down. The design is very attractive without being ostentatious or difficult to clean. This grade of stainless is excellent, and the pieces are quite hard and strong. The dinner knives have a finely serrated edge which make cutting a breeze. The salad or dessert forks are somewhat smaller and lighter than the dinner forks and are well-balanced and appropriate for smaller serving dishes or plates. I have arthritis in my hands and I find this pattern much easier to use and grasp than any other flatware I have used. The price of this set is very reasonable considering the superior quality and lasting value. I bought two sets so I will never need to replace individual pieces at open stock prices, I will never have to use mismatched flatware again, and I always have enough place settings ready-to-go when friends visit unexpectedly. This is one purchase I will never regret, and this set would make a fine gift of quality and good taste. I tend to be somewhat critical of most products and find fault with them after a short time, but I find no shortcoming with this set. I highly recommend Mikasa Sweet Pea without reservation.
