I agree with CM07030 completely. Nowhere does this product claim to be a charging device and removing the batteries is a trivial matter.
If you are going to add in trickle charging and a bypass circuit to bypass the batteries when on AC power, you are going to be paying much more than $13.
Nothing beats the Mighty Bright for value and performance. I love it!
