I bought a Harolds Intruder Mesh Cutting Glove here on Amazon that I love after accidentally cutting myself with a knife while cutting vegetables. The cut was not the result of the zester which I bought after getting the glove. This zester is really nice looking, very long and very sharp. It's exceptional. The only caveat is that I would not feel comfortable using it without that mesh glove. It seems it would be easy to go too far down the zester and make contact with my knuckles, or with fingers if the vegetable is close to the blade. But those gloves are probably a good idea with any zester. This one is very pretty (I got the lime green) and feels very substantial.Customer Review: Great, but with a few caveats

First off, and most importantly, the zester/grater is unbelievably good with hard cheeses, such as reggiano parmesan. The grater shreds the cheese to a fine consistency unmanageable by other tools. Zest created by the grater is perfect, and of an even texture. The grater is very comfortable to hold, and the grip works well, even for left handers. It is, however, important to note that the grater can be difficult to clean (especially of zest) and that it is extremely sharp, with no safety features except for the one between your ears.Customer Review: Wonderful kitchen tool

Extremely sharp grating surface. In grating a lemon for a lemon meringue pie, my first project with this tool, i was surprised by how easily i was able to grate the fruit and just how much usable zest fell from the surface of the lemon. The zest did not get stuck in the tool, as it usually does in my old grater. I've since used it on other fruits and cheeses for other recipes. This is certainly one of the most useful tools i have added to my kitchen.Customer Review: Great Job
