I bought these glasses because I wanted something attractive for every day that wouldn't tip easily when one of my very large dogs gives a hard bump to a table or gives the glass on the coffee table a bit of a tail swish. They serve that purpose admirably because their short, wide shape makes them very stable.
As well as being artistically appealing these glasses are amazingly durable. I've had a set of juice glasses like them since the early 80's and have only lost one to breakage despite quite careless handling. The glass broke from thermal shock mentioned in the description. Dear spouse put ice in the glass right out of a very hot dishwasher, a very unwise thing to do with any glass, even pyrex. Also, I've never bothered to hand wash these glasses and they hold up to being put in the dishwasher like champs.
I would have appreciated seeing the approximate glass size in the description which is approximately 3 3/8 W" x 5/14" H which varies a bit from glass to glass because they are handmade. The size is to large for a child to grasp comfortably.
The vendor shipped very quickly and provided excellent packing.
Description of Mexican Glass DOF Blue Rim
Care instructions: Our Mexican Glassware is individually mouth blown, hand formed and made from recycled glass. Trapped bubbles and slight variations in form, capacity and color are natural and charming features of the glassware. Although it is quite durable, this glass is not tempered so some extra care is necessary. A cooling-off period is essential after the glassware is removed from the dishwasher. Extreme temperature changes may cause thermal shock and cracking. This glassware is not suitable for serving hot beverages.Tumblers
