Over this past weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend a wine tasting of "Old wines" - wines that were at least 20 years old. Naturally this means there's going to be a lot of sediment in the wines, so I brought this along to help out. Received it as a Christmas gift from my sister, and wow, what a gift! The filter trapped all the sediment and any cork bits that happened to fall in while the bottles were being opened, leaving the wine beautifully clear. The funnel helped to give just that little bit of aeration needed to bring the wines back to life. By the end of the evening, a number of my friends were asking where I had gotten it so that they, too, could obtain it. Awesome. Just, awesome.
Description of Metrokane Wine Shower Funnel
When wine is poured into a decanter through this unique funnel, it creates a "shower", which allows the wine to absorb more oxygen (aeration) in a shorter time. Aeration improves the flavor and bouquet of red wines prior to serving and is recommended by wine experts. Poured through the Shower Funnel, wine can be served immediately after decanting. Fine red wines often develop some sediment while aging and old corks may crumble when pulled. Sediment and cork pieces are easily removed by placing the strainer in the Shower funnel before pouring wine into the decanter.Specialty Tools & Gadgets
