Customer Review: Broke - poor customer support

Mine broke after only about a year. I contacted Metrokane, who gives you the name of one specific person... They wanted me to pay the shipping to send it in, plus $15 shipping & handling to get a new one sent back to me--not worth it. Kind of lacking customer service when it costs as much as a new one to get a warranty replacement.
As far as the rabbit itself... it's nice. It takes up a LOT of cabinet space, though, so I prefer a regular waiter's corkscrew. You could fit 25 waiter's corkscrews in the space this thing takes up.

We bought the Metrokane opener after going through a few other openers. After reading the reviews we bought the Metrokane. We were very pleased with the rabbit until today--less than a year of owning it the handle broke in two. We live in 'wine country " in CA and we open a bottle a day. I will definitely be looking for a different opener. Our rabbit handles are plastic but look like they are metal. From what I have heard the metal ones are great but you need to be aware of what you are ordering. Buyer beware!!Customer Review: A great starter kit and basic tools

I bought this kit when I first started to get into wines and was amazed at how easy it was to open up bottles! I had been doing the ghetto way and using those portable corkscrews. The wine opener requires almost no effort. The other accessories also proved to be invaluable as I started to enjoy my wine more and more.
I think it is a nice basic kit, and serves great as a starter kit. I also give it a thumbs up because it is in a neat carrying case so you can take with you on trips, etc.

You can't get it for a better price (not to mention free SUPER SAVER shipping and no tax!) All our friends want one...they make GREAT gifts for GREAT friends! I got the rabbit has a christmas/birthay gift for my mom who likes to drink wine, but unfortunatly suffers with arthritis in her hands. It is very hard for her to open bottles of wine with a regular cork screw. We used the rabbit on Christmas, and it was very easy to use. I went all the way and got her the gift set that came with other tools she may or may not use. I would definitely recommend this item. Also, I had a very smooth transaction, and received my item quickly.
