Customer Review: Peels Stick in Peeler...

Peeled a bag of potatoes and a couple carrots with this peeler. Unlike our old Swivel Peeler, the peels constantly get stuck between the blade and the curved plastic part above the blade. (It is hard to see in the pictures but the plastic part that curves over the blade sticks out about 1 inch above the blade. Look at the Messermeister Pro Touch Serrated Swivel Peeler for a better view or see other websites for a side view.)
It does have a sharp blade and takes the peel off, but what's the point if it catches almost all the peels? Both my wife and I tried it and we both disliked it for the same reason.
Btw... Our old peeler looked kinda like this one: RSVP Stainless Steel Fruit and Vegetable Peeler or the "Jonas Original Potato Peeler" (It never caught peels. Replaced our old peeler with the Messermeister because it was dull after 10 years of use.)
(Before anyone asks... I used the peeler blade side down and curved plastic part up... :o) I also varied my peeling speed... Nothing helped.)

Bought the RSVP Stainless Steel Fruit and Vegetable Peeler that I mentioned above. It works great. No stuck peels & peels quickly with no issue. Doesn't seem as sharp as the Messermeister peeler, but sharp enough to peel carrots, potatoes, apples, etc. (i.e I don't think it would peel a tomato. But I didn't buy this peeler for peeling tomatos anyway. The upside is that I won't cut myself as easy either.)
Tossed the Messermeister peeler in the trash.
