Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Megahome Glass Collection Bottle for DistillerCustomer Review: Love It Summary: 4 Stars
I've had this collection bottle for five months. I was never happy about using the plastic one. Why distill the water only to collect it in a toxic container? This seemed expensive, but I finally took the plunge and am glad I did.
When I got it, I was surprised, miffed, and a bit nervous to find out that it is considered a consumable item and therefore has something like a seven-day warranty.
Assembly was straightforward. I periodically test the handle to see if it needs retightening, and so far it hasn't.
Be sure to support the bottle while pouring to avoid over-stressing the handle. It pours well, though, so there isn't much mess transferring to another container.
This comes with an adapter that attaches to the distiller to house the carbon filter. I think this setup is more convenient than having the filter housing rest on top of the collection bottle. The only drawback is that I forget that it's there and don't remember to change the filter.
I'm glad I got this and recommend it. I docked one star because the price still makes me shudder.
Customer Review: Wished this initially came with my distiller Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the Megahome distiller a few months ago, and was sent the one with the plastic container. After realizing this sort of plastic releases toxins (water is still quite warm after distillation process) I bought the glass collection bottle. My only gripe is that you have to be careful as it seems the handle may not be strong enough to handle the weight of a full bottle, and it is very expensive to replace if you break it.
Customer Review: Excellent fit for distiller - Cost is ridiculous Summary: 4 Stars
We purchased this glass bottle to replace the toxic plastic one that came standard with the unit. It was easy to put together, works well as long as you don't lift it by the handle unsupported. My major complaint is the cost, way to high. There is no way to justify it, other than - it's the only one on the market. We had to bite the bullet and just do it.
Customer Review: Too Pricey Summary: 3 Stars
$45 for a glass container? Way too much, but nothing else will fit the distiller properly. You could buy a microwave oven for that much! Some assembly required and NO instructions; not too hard to figure out though. Looks nice, but a full gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds so don't try to lift the full container just by the handle.
