I can't say STAY AWAY FROM MAYTAG enough! I bought a top loader to save money but spent extra to get a Maytag, which I thought was the best of the best. I could'nt have been more wrong! From the time I purchased it has been a ticking time bomb of problems. (the dryer has been even worse). I checked around w/friends for opinions and they all had similar experiences with this brand, although most have front loaders. Don't waste your money. Maytag is not at all what it used to be. I'm buying WHIRLPOOL from now on-a brand all my friends (and former Maytag owners) rave about.
