Our old coffee pot gave up the ghost. Since I am the only one who drinks coffee....the weekends.....we did not need a fancy pot. I saw reviews for the coffee pots with timers and clocks and such on the base of the unit.....they get wet and break. This unit has one on/off switch....that is it. I leave it in the on position and merely plug the unit in to make coffee and immediately unplug. My switch will never go bad....the KISS principle......keep it simple stupid. This unit should last a long, long time. Oh, the filter is reusable so NO more paper filters.....how sweet.
