I purchased this item thinking it would be very relaxing , especially in view of the price. What I received was a beautifully packaged small fan. But pretty packaging doesn't relax one. What I expected was a soothing continuously variable sound. One would do better to buy an inexpensive small table fan that oscillates for about $19.00 and change . It would be a varying sound, at least, instead of a constant rush of air.Customer Review: not very good

It made a lot of noise; I was hoping for a small amount of white noise to mask a roof exhaust fan, but this item actually sounded worse (and louder) than the noise I was trying to mask.
After all the charges it was $63. They gave me $58 back, and pretty quickly. So it cost me about $11 (additional fedex cost to ship back) for trying it out. Not so great but not so terrible either.

If you're looking for a white noise machine you can't go wrong with this one. Made a world of difference, overnight. Not bad for travelling either.
Only suggestion I would have to the manufacturer: Easier to manipulate volume/on-off button. Think big. Try doing it with an infant in your arms while it's on the floor. Can still be done, just have skilled toes :)

The new apartment was perfect - except for the traffic noise from the busy intersection nearby, and the old fridge that went on and off with a loud *clunk* a few times every hour. I was beginning to despair of getting a good night's sleep when I ran across this little gadget. It's made all the difference in the world. This may be the best fifty bucks I've spent all year.Customer Review: Couldn't live without it

When it's time for the babies to take a nap, be sure to have this. I raised my 3 sons with one and now my 4 grandchildren. I have given one to my daughter-in-laws and to friends for baby gifts. They all love them,take them on trips,or anywhere they go during nap time. I even sleep with one now. It drowns out other noise (like a snoring husband and dogs).
