Love this spoon. Because the material is not slick, whatever you are trying to scoop doesn't slide off the spoon. I have some arthritis in my hand and the soft handle is nice. I have the entire set and have them on the counter in the Mario Batali Persimmon Crock and looks great on the counter. I also have some of Rachel Ray's orange utensils and the colors blend nicely. This is NOT a serving spoon to be used on the table, unless you want people to be able to serve large portions. If you are having a big BBQ and want your guests to be able to scoop large portions of potato salad or pasta salad, (which usually slides off the spoon,) this is it!! This is a wonderful spoon to get chili out of the pot, to get mashed potatoes out of the pot and into the bowl. Be sure you know what you are buying your utensils for before you buy. Look at the dimensions and think about how you want to use them. When they are part of a set that includes a spaghetti scoop and pancake turners, then they are probably not the size to be used to serve from a regular sized serving bowl.
