Customer Review: Welcome to Cooking in the New Millenium!
Summary: 4 Stars
Okay, so if you've seen eccentric Batali on T. V.,
you know that the chef has a larger than life personna.
However, this and all his hand protective products
for cooking...Deliver! About a year ago,I bought
four side handle grips and one long handle grip in
persimmon and pesto. I had to wait some for the
fun hues, but the wait was worth it. I adore the
Euro colors, the easy cleaning, the compact storage,
and the protection. I took away one star because
one cannot keep the side handles on over a gas flame
during the entire cooking process. The silicone heats up.
So, yes, one needs to buy TWO separately priced side grips
for one pot; then one must put the "twins" on at key moments
of the cooking process; next REMOVE the grips if one
is not satisfied that the cooking is done. Follow?
Not by the way, I recommend browsing Amazon's book section
and purchasing "Heat". It's a revealing, entertaining,
and appalling expose of Batali and the cooking biz!
