I loved this pizza peel when I first received it. But after only 2 uses, it began to crack and mildew terribly. The cares instructions said to wipe it off with a damp cloth. I did exactly that, and let it air dry for a few days, but then when I put it in a cabinet to store it, the handle split all the way down and it had mold growing over the entire top of it. Apparantly, it should not get wet at all, but that is ridiculous.Customer Review: Regrettable Purchase

I bake fresh ciabatta bread every weekend on hot stones & was looking for a decent bread paddle, pizza peel to alleviate the burns. This one seemed to have the right shape, size & bevel. I got it; oiled it DAILY for a week with a quality bamboo/butcher block oil and after 2 uses, it cracked right down the middle. It had never even SEEN a drop of water! Worse yet? The "Mario Batelli" folk wouldn't replace it OR give me a refund.Customer Review: Keep Looking - split in two with very few uses -

I had this peel less that 3 months and had only used it a few times and it cracked in two. Im looking for a steel or metal now instead of bamboo. I have many bamboo cutting boards and utensils and have never had this problem previously. Poor quality in my opinion.Customer Review: excellent
