Customer Review: Believe the Complaints - this thing is junk

Mario Batali was the guy who got me interested in cooking. His "Italian Grill" cookbook convinced me to start taking meal time seriously, and his beef bracciole recipe was one of my favorites. For that reason, I always wanted to get a piastra, to see how the recipe really should be made. I saw one of these at a local Sur La Table store the other day, and made an impulse purchase to get it. Tonight I used it for the first time, and guess what happened ? Cracked. Right in half. After the first use.
I read all the directions. Rubbed it with oil, never had the grill above a very reasonable 375 degrees ... didn't matter. The thing cracked right down the middle. Needless to say, this will be going back to the store instantly.
I can honestly say I haven't been this disappointed in a product in a long time. Reading the comments on here, it's clear this "product" is deeply flawed. If you order one, you're a fool. I only wish I had seen these reviews before sinking $50 into mine. Batali should be ashamed to have his name associated with such a piece of junk.
