I hesitated to purchase this because of a review of one of Mario Batali's other spoons. The reviewer stated the spoon had to be sanded, and that the finish was rough.
I decided to try this, and I'm glad I purchased it. The spoon is nicely finished and I did not notice any rough patches.
The spoon is large and substantial, and appears to be able to stand up to polenta and risotto.

Bought the Risotto Paddle and the finishing spoon as well. No need to buy both. Just get the finishing spoon. Easier to handle and does a better job. Works great!
