Customer Review: Enamel chips badly

I bought the 12 inch a couple of years ago. While the pan cooks just fine, a big (one inch or so) chip came off the underside of the handle end just shortly after purchase. I know I didn't hit it on anything. It just fell off. leaving the rough, granite-colored iron exposed. I didn't return it, because it is too much trouble, and the chip doesn't affect the performance. I still like using it, but I since have read other reviews where the Copco enamel didn't hold up like Le Creuset or Staub, which I also have, and have never had a chipping issue. I just liked the persimmon color that was available at the time I bought the pan, and wanted the depth.
At the same time I also bought the 6 quart dutch oven in the persimmon color, which has a cream enamel interior. Have used it about once or twice a month over the past two years. Noticed a small hole in the interior enamel the last time I used it.
Can't beat Le Creuset. Staub is fine, but too heavy for me, and I prefer the light interior of the LC.
