Received this as a wedding present. Glad we got the Premium over the original model. The four different settings made a world of difference. I fill it up with ice everyday after work and make a different drink throughout the night as our moods change. LOL I recommend buying an extra pitcher so you are not constantly washing the one between different drinks when two people have different drink request. Our son loves the shaved ice for snowcones or even just in soft drinks. Also, make sure you have plenty of space between your counter top and cabinets since this is a tall machine. Manufacturer states the gap in the jar is intentional, but doesn't occur or other models. If you make the max mix, it will Splash & spill. Other than that, it meets expectations.

We just brought one of these home today after having seen one at a friend's house. So far this evening, we've had margaritas, strawberry smoothies, and "frappacinos", which were every bit as good as Starbucks! Just blended some milk, flavored Coffeemate creamer, a little instant coffee, Splenda, and chocolate syrup!
The best part is, we can use Splenda and skim milk and know exactly what we're drinking, instead of possibly drinking a 500 calorie concoction at the mall. Making them was really simply, and cleanup was a breeze! I plan to leave this out on the counter so that we use it often...not just for parties!

I purchased the Margaritaville DM2000 for a friend because I have the same one and I truly think that it is the best machine for the price. I paid about $100.00 more at another store. Amazon had it priced more affordable. The reason I purchased the DM2000 because it has metal instead of plastic piece that turns the blade on the bottom of the unit & inside the ice unit. Also you can mix different types of drinks (ritas, daiquiri, smoothies) and you can select the number of drinks you want to prepare. It is definetly worth the extra money for the extra functions. This machine is such a crowd pleaser that I understand why they offer a travel bag. Everyone is amazed by how easy it is to crank out drinks though a bit deaf from its sound. I have used all the settings and made a lot of different drinks. Since it is shaving ice based on an expected quantity of liquid, I have a mixing glass marked for the various drinks and quantities so that I can easily play with different formulas and always have the correct liquid/ice ratio. If there is a downside to this ease, it is the weight you can pack on from drinking a bunch of calorie rich drinks. Highly recommended.
