Customer Review: Stop...Do not BUY this product without reading this review

I bought this machine a month ago with so much excitement and anticipation. When it arrived, my husband and I immediately took it out and went to the store to get supplies to make a great Margarita. When we made the drink, it was horrible....instead of shaved ice as the advertisement states, it made balls of sleet and chunks of ice. The margarita's it made were not drinkable as they had an oily taste as well. We packed up the machine and wrote a letter to the president of company - Cooks Plus, Hilton Head, SC, and got pitiful customer service. He refused to stand behind the machine or take it back. After repeated phone calls it is now up to me to continue wasting my time by other means to try to get my money back for a product that totally does not work. I highly recommend that you do not buy this machine and if you do, it is not through this resource of Amazon.Customer Review: A Bit Pricey

I'll give this 5 stars on performance and 2 on price/value for an average of 3 stars. Read the other reviews, they're accurate. This puppy rocks and it's definitely a conversation piece at your party. However, I can make margaritas and pina coladas in a $20 blender that are almost as good. I say almost because the shaved ice this machine produces is magnificent. It's the same consistency as a restaurant margarita. You can't do that in a $20 blender.
So, after a Memorial weekend of killer margaritas and pina coladas I ultimately decided $300 is too much for a blender and returned it (kudos to Amazon and their painless return policy).
Bottom line: You've never seen anything like it and the results are amazing and quick. A bit pricey but a lot of fun.

I have been using this machine for the past three summers and love it. It makes great Margaritas and smoothies - a lot of fun for get-to-gethers. A lesson I learned early on is to mix up the drinks ahead of time and just fill the blender with about 20oz of liquid for three drinks.
There is a problem if you want a thorough cleaning. Contents from the blender will splash up into, and long side the ice-shoot. You cannot disassemble the ice-shoot portion of the machine so cleaning is difficult. After disassembling as far as possible, I turn the machine upside down letting the ice-shoot section hang over the sink. I scrub using a small brush and a food-safe cleaner. Got to be careful that liquid does not get into the electrical sections of the machine.

My husband is a big slushie fan so for Valentines Day this year I was on the lookout for a slushie machine.
Having searched the net I was amazed at the prices of the usual slushie machines - over $1000 was a little excessive!
It was then that I came across this little gem. I was a little sceptical at first since so many other machines like it had received none too sparkling reviews but those given for this machine seemed much more positive so I placed the order.
I am so glad I did!
The machine shaves the ice perfectly and with a little syrup mix makes super slushies! It also works wonderfully on milkshakes.
Clean up is very easy, its not too loud and it looks pretty cool too.
Hubbie is thrilled to bits and so am I.

WELL AS OTHERS HAVE SAID , ITS PRETTY MUCH DOES WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL.
FOR 300 BUCKS ITS OK. BUT THE ICE TRAY IS KINDA ON THE CHEAP SIDE AND I CAN SEE BREAKING THE PLASTIC LOCK ON IT WHILE OPENING IT TO FILL WITH ICE SOMEDAY IN THE NEAR FUTURE . ALSO SEE THE CHEAP PLASTIC LOCK TAB ON THE CONTAINER THAT HOLDS THE MELTED ICE WATER BREAKING SOON ENOUGH. THAT ASIDE , IT APPEARS TO BE MADE PRETTY WELL . MAKE SURE YOUR ICE CUBES ARE NOT IN BIG FROZEN CLUMPS AS IT MAY MAKE THE MACHINE FREEZE/JAM WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHAVE THE ICE. HAD A PARTY THE OTHER DAY AND WITHOUT EVEN A DRY RUN MADE EXCELLENT MARGARIAS AND CHERRY DAIQUIRIS WITH LITTLE FUSS OR MUSS.
BUY ONE AT ONCE AND GET YOUR FAVORITE BRAIN FREEZE GOING. IF I ONLY HAD ONE OF THESE IN COLLEGE .....
