This is a great machine. I had bought the less expensive machine (dm500) and it was not good. The ice stuck to the side and didn't mix. This machine shoots the ice straight down and actually mixes. I couldn't believe how much better it was. The only thing I don't like is you can't control how much you want it mixed with the auto dial. It ends up to smooth for my liking. It does have a manual mode and I use that to make my drinks. Don't go cheap this blender is worth the extra moneyCustomer Review: Company stands behind their products ...

My original review of the product was this, "Similar story to some other one-star reviewers: after a little over a year the blender no longer "catches" and spins to blend. The piece that catches the jug and makes the blade spin is worn down because it is only PLASTIC. I called the company for replacement parts, they don't make them."
HOWEVER, after writing a letter to the company, they made it right and replaced the product. Great customer service and we love the machine!

This machine is great! I don't understand any of the negative reviews. Perhaps they just received a factory defect. The product arrived in perfect condition. I cleaned it and made a frozen coffee drink. It was delicious. I like the fact you can add more ice shavings and blend manually if the automatic setting isn't to your liking. The shaver is plastic but shaved the ice with no problem. If you're hesitant because of the few low ratings don't worry, you'll be happy.Customer Review: Makes Great Smoothies!

I actually bought this machine after reading reviews that it made good fruit smoothies, and my husband and I both agree the Margaritaville makes the best smoothies ever! We have also enjoyed great margaritas and frozen lemonaide drinks (which we made for very happy guests on the 4th of July). We are very happy with our purchase especially after Amazon gave us a 20% discount because we did not receive the salt rimmer and shot glass as advertised. I only used it once but I was not impressed. It shaves the ice very well, however we never got the right ratio of ice to alcohol. The drinks were very week. You could not increase the amount of liquid in the picture because then the ice will make it overflow. I did not try the recipe that comes with it. Like I said, I only used it once, next time I will try the recipe and see if it works better. I used premixed margaritas and it did not turn out at all!!
