Made the huge mistake of buying the Margarator first. What a piece of junk. We returned that to the store and we were very hesitant to sink even more money into this, but we really wanted something to make frozen drinks. I am so glad we took the plunge and bought this machine. PERFECT SHAVED ICED CONSISTENCY - JUST LIKE IN THE RESTAURANTS! Very easy to make and very fast. Make sure you follow the recipe ratio in the directions. The recipe calls for 2 to 1 ratio. I was used to following the recipe on the back of most Magarita mixes that are 3 to 1 (Mixer to Alcohol).Customer Review: Husband LOVES it!

My husband loves to entertain guests with special frozen concoctions. Since giving him the Margaritaville Bahamas Frozen Drink maker for Father's Day he hasn't missed a chance to "whip" some refreshment up. He says it's the best thing he has ever used, very simple to operate. The fact that along with the automatic drink proportion controls, it can be used to manually put as much ice in as you would like and since he is somewhat of a control-freak with his cooking/drinks this allows him to make them perfect! LOVE THIS MACHINE! I've had it about a month and have used it many times. It comes apart fairly easily so cleanup isn't so much of chore that I think twice about using it. The only drawback, personally, is that it's taller than a regular blender and I don't have a cabinet in which to store it! I suppose having it on the counter all the time really isn't a problem in the summer months but I might have to do something come winter. Got a little tired of regular margaritas quickly but found some awesome recipes by googling "battlestar galactica drinks".Customer Review: Good product for frequent Margarita drinkers

This is a good product for those of you who like margaritas and other frozen drinks. We have never had good luck with a blender and burnt several of them out. It does take time to come up with the "right" mix sometimes, but lots of practice helps. I do wish this product had come with a frozen drink recipe book to get started. I would suggest investing in one.
Overall we have been pleased with the product and its performance. We do need to get the carrying case as it has been a hit and has begun traveling with us to friends houses.

We got this model, and I would agree with other reviewers that it is a good all-purpose appliance. We were thinking about getting one of the first models that came out, but when this one came out, it was the right one. It makes very good Margaritas. It is a better value for people who only need a frozen drink maker infrequently. The carrying case allows us to store it out of the way when it isn't being used. We have even used it to make shaved ice for snow cones for the kids--it's also very good at making non-alcoholic slushy drinks.
