Customer Review: good shampoo but not for my dog

My dog has severe allergies and has to get steroid treatment to keep it under control. I heard about the Malaseb shampoo and tried it but unfortuntantly it made my dog worse. It did take all of the stinky smell away completely. The vet said his skin is just too sensitive for it, even though with some dogs it is a very good shampoo. He recommended Relief shampoo from the same company. It is milder and contains an anti-imflamatory. I won't give Malaseb a bad review. I know it is a good shampoo, it just wasn't right for my dog. I'll never try anything else without consulting my vet first because my dog's allergies are so severe. These shampoos are good, but only your vet can tell you which one is right for your dog.
Description of Malaseb Shampoo - 16 oz. (500 ml)
Malaseb Shampoo is ideal for generalized or multifocal therapy of dermatitis in dogs and horses. Malaseb Shampoo contains Miconazole - an antifungal with potent activity against fungi and yeast - and Chlorhexidine Gluconate - a proven antimicrobial agent active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This synergistic formulation effectively removes scales, degreases the skin and kills cutaneous microorganisms that primarily or secondarily cause dermatitis. Clinical trials show Malaseb to be an effective treatment and control of Seborrheic dermatitis associated with Malassezia pachydermatitis and Staph intermedius. Malaseb is free from dyes and perfumes to reduce possible exacerbation of skin problems and its innovative surfactant base removes damaged lipids without stripping the coat.
