Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Deluxe 22 Piece SetCustomer Review: Not What I Expected Summary: 3 Stars
The commercial looks great, but it's not all it appears to be. I ordered it to make smoothies and when I got it home and tried it out I realized that It doesn't chop ice very well. For everything that I have tried it takes much longer than I expected or the advertised "10 seconds." The blades don't fit all the cups, which may be a problem if I want to make multiple drinks. It takes me a while to get the blades off and I'm in my early 20's so this item is definitely not for someone with a weak grip or arthritis. One thing that the magic bullet offers that other don't is that you are able to make individual drinks and make things in their own storage or pouring container. This feature is wonderful, less dishes.
Customer Review: A Major Disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
I really dislike making such an extreme statement, but I used my new Magic Bullet for the first time this holiday season and I am about to toss it in the trash to make room for some more worthy kitchen tools in my cabinets. I tried to chopped onions, carrots and celery (separately, of course) and it did an absolutely miserable job at all -- a portion of each was liquified, the remainder in chunks. Tried parsley -- same result.
I'm not into smoothies and such things, but as a mini blender or food processor for the things that I have tried, I recommend that you save your dineros. This kitchen "tool" absolutely does not cut it. Buy one of the mini food processors -- you'll be bucks ahead.
Customer Review: Great product - short lifespan Summary: 3 Stars
I love using the Magic Bullet for the reasons listed on this site - mainly convenience of use and cleanup. Here is the catch, however. My first Magic Bullet lasted about 6 months with daily usage. I thought that the short lifespan was a fluke, so I bought another Magic Bullet. The second one lasted about two months with daily usage. Daily usage was making smoothies and grinding cheese, ice, nuts - nothing unusual, according to the sales pitch.
Believe it or not, I'm looking to buy a third Magic Bullet because of the convenience (it literally cleans up in seconds vs. a blender because the blade is easier to get at), but now I know that I'm only going to have it for a short time.
Customer Review: Good coffee grinder...that's about it. Summary: 2 Stars
We purchased this 2 years ago because we were thinking we could make salsa, omelets, blah, blah, blah. Well, I can't get this thing to do anything that resembles chopping or dicing. It will only cut onions, tomatoes, garlic extremely unevenly leaving half liquidized and half with huge chunks. I really thought my husband was just doing it wrong, so I read all the directions thoroughly and tried it myself. After murdering our produce, I just made tomato sauce instead. We have found a use for it though...grinding coffee. It does this very well. Unfortunately, I have about 18 pieces to this dumb set that does not ever get used. My advice...spend $15 bucks on a coffee grinder instead.
Customer Review: Do not buy Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this item after seeing the infomercial. I spend a lot of time chopping for my favorite meals. I like to make fruit salsa, tomato bruschetta, and fresh pesto. Normally I chop everything by hand. I saw the commercial and thought how great it would be if instead of taking me 20 minutes to chop my pesto, I could do it in a couple of minutes.
However, after trying to use this item several times, I've found that no matter how long I run it, I only get mush. And it is all or nothing. Either nothing is chopped or everything becomes soup.
I will keep it and hopefully I can still use it for smoothies, but it is useless for what I really wanted to use it for.
