Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Deluxe 22 Piece Set

Customer Review: Garbage
Summary: 1 Stars

I'll start with something positive. This machine makes fantastic smoothies. I'm addicted to them now. However, it doesn't last very long. The first one I got as a gift. It worked wonderfully for about two months of daily use. then the rubber part came off, got tangled in the blades and burnt out the motor in a few seconds. I thought this might have happened because it took me a year to open and use after I received it, so I thought it broke because it was sitting too long. But I really liked it so I bought another one. The new one worked daily for exactly one week. The cup did not fit the base easily and once in, did not work. I just threw it all away.

Besides the fact that it breaks easily it also makes a lot of noise. I couldn't have smoothies at night because it woke everyone up, sounds like a lawn mower.

One star is too much, I don't recommend this to anyone, it is a waste of money.

Customer Review: Love Love Love it - but only lasted 4 months!
Summary: 2 Stars

Alas....poor Magic Bullet....I Knew You Well!

I used my bullet faithfully every morning to make my smoothie - nothing else - just smoothies.
Super simple and compact - even took it on a road trip it's so easy to pack/carry/clean up!

BUT....it only lasted 4 months. It just died this morning.

Now, that's just not right - products should last longer than 4 months even with daily use - and only once per day at that!

I'm outside of the "return window" and I guess I'll have to go back to buying those clunky $29.95 blenders from a local retailer - at least they last 2 or 3 years, even with the hassle of clean up.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me - I can't afford to spend $52 every 4 months for a simple smoothie blender!

I'll miss my bullet :-(

Customer Review: Love this thing!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am on my second bullet blender and it is still going after being heavily used and abused for over two years. I had purchases the buy one get one free set from the site and the other one is still in the cabinet waiting for the one I am using to die. We use it several times a day and keep one blade and small cup just for grinding coffee beans. I do notice that the blades bottom part show some wear but I have a tendancy to pull the cup off before the blades have stopped so that is my fault. It does say not to do that on the instructions. I don't like the way it chops garlic or onion so I don't use it for that but for everything else it works great. I even got a set so I could send one to my sister and one to a friend. My kids make smoothies all the time during the hot months here and they aren't too gentle with it. I would recommend this to anyone needing a great little blender.

Customer Review: do not buy!
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought mine directly from Homeland Housewares' web site. First, they screwed up my shipping address and sent it to "la-la land". After many hours of waisted time with customer service, I was forced to contact Better Business Bureau. So they sent me another unit. I liked it at first, it was very convenient for small jobs. Then things started breaking... I was not able to buy replacement parts (because they don't sell them). So I trashed what was left of it and bought Tribest Personal Blender PB-200. I am very happy now. It works, the parts are dishwasher-safe (even though they say they aren't), it takes very little room on the counter, I could buy accessories (though everything I have is still in one piece), and I love my mason jar attachment.
But this is about magic bullet. Save yourself some trouble, don't buy it. I'd give it 0 stars, but Amazon won't let me do it.

Customer Review: Short Life !!!
Summary: 1 Stars

We've enjoyed our Magic Bullet blender for slightly under three years. Then (suddenly?) the drive gear on the motor base wore away. You'd think the little rubber nubbies on the bottom of the cutter assembly would wear, and they probably did, but the hard plastic vanes of the driver piece just shredded.

Could this have been because of mis-use, like maybe not pushing down hard enough to assure full engagement of the nubbies in the vanes? I don't know; I'm not going to tell my wife and daughter that they didn't know how to operate a simple hand blender. This thing has to live in the real world.

Now the thing is junk. I'll start looking for repair parts, but it sounds like I'm out of luck. I wouldn't recommend the Magic Bullet, until they change their material choice.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.
