Customer Review: Convenience, yes - Longevity, NO

I purchased this little gem to make protein shakes to take in to work with me. At first, it worked just fine - a few frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup of soy milk & a portion of protein powder. Grind, grind, grind, unscrew the cup & blender blade from the base, flip over, unscrew the blade unit, screw on a solid top - good to go. Soon, however (within a few weeks), I was unable to just click the cup to blend, I had to hold it to keep it blending - annoying, but not day destroying. Then, I noticed that it was taking longer and longer to blend my shake - really, really annoying (my mornings are pretty time-sensitive). Finally, though I could hear the motor whirring, the blades weren't moving. I flipped the blade unit over to discover that the harder plastic on the motor base had completely chewed away the softer plastic on the blade unit. Really, really POOR engineering. Great way to keep selling extra blade units, though - a real win for the replacement part division. Needless to say, I won't be contributing more to their bottom line.

I love my new toy.......I have seen it many times on TV and always wanted it. When my guy mentioned to me that he would like to spend more time in the kitchen with me I thought perfect, I will buy it for him as a Christmas Gift and when that phase passes I will be the proud new owner of the Magic Bullet. I ordered on-line. I have a salon in my home and was busy for the Christmas rush...I was cutting my guys co-workers sons hair when the delivery truck came. My guy and his co-worker greeted our delivery man who with a smile on his face delivered a large white box that said.... MAGIC BULLET ... with that the two men are left standing there with a large box addressed to me that reads MAGIC BULLET ... not aware that this is just a wonderful kitchen gadget their minds went elsewhere......after moments of silence the two men burst out in laughter and thouhgt I was just out of control... :).... Message to the packing company : Please conceal the packages during the holiday season....but thank-you for the holiday cheer.

Customer Review: Don't believe the hype

Magic Bullet Complete 21 Piece Mix and Chopping System
This product is hyped in ads on TV as being simple to use. Don't believe it. It takes a great deal of skill and practice to use it and not turn the item you are processing to mush. The instructions even say that. Even with practice the Magic Bullet does not even approach the uses shown in the ads. For example. It says it grates all kinds of cheeses. Not true, if you put a soft cheese (e.g. sharp cheddar) it just turns to mush even using the techniques described on the manual and on their website. Yet I can easily grate this cheese on my hand grater.

We tried to chop onions and even using the lightest touch we got - mush
Carrots - mush. We were able to make smoothies because you basically want those to be mush. Hard cheeses like Parmesan seem to work OK.

Basically, this device is much more limited than advertised and if you have a blender already there is no sense in buying this product because it can't do much better.

Customer Review: doesn't do much of what it says it will

we received the magic bullet as a wedding gift - thank goodness we didn't spend a dime on the product but what a waste. my husband was using the flat blade as a coffee grinder and after a few uses, the rubber strip that keeps the cup on the machine snapped in half. the only thing i found it did well was mincing garlic. onions came out liquified. there is VERY uneven distribution of the food in the blender. i was constantly having to shake the jar to move the food around. without all the extra manual shaking, you'll get huge chunks and part liquid. i also tried to use it for mixed drinks and smoothies and it does not crush ice. when you have it on for more than 30 seconds, it gives off an unpleasant smell, like the motor is working too hard. the manual also tells you not to have it on for more than 1 minute. this is a great idea but it barely does anything it claims to. don't waste your money on the magic bullet or make sure you can get a full refund if you do decide to purchase it.

Customer Review: I got the one with the juicer attachment
Summary: 1 Stars

I saw the infomercial a long time ago and always wanted one. Then i saw the newest infomercial with the juicer attachment and thought "I HAVE to get one of these!" The tv version costs too much with shipping so I got mine on the world's favorite auction site that starts with an E and ends in a Y. I paid a little less than $[...] for it new in box including shipping. I have to say it's a big waste of money. No more powerful than a $20 blender. Does NOT perform like it did on tv. Things get stuck, doing ice cubes in your mix takes forever, very touchy with the "pulse" locking, etc. The main thing that sold me was a juicer. But this is a not a juicer. I tried doing a veggie mix and the blades would stick and no juice was produced. It MIGHT work for melons or oranges, I haven't tried. The only good thing I can say is cleaning it is easy and it's convenient for the things it CAN do (which is not many). I haven't been this disappointed with a product in a long time. I would not recommend this.
