It readily fastens two or three pages together but if you flip the pages to read them they will fall apart. This is more like a paper clip for two or three pages versus a stapler.Customer Review: Nice, compact and useful

works perfectly. although don't use it for more than 4 pages. Other than that it really works and the pages will stay together...never buy staples again!
