I purchased and installed this item in my kitchen to keep my knives out of the reach of my 4 year old and out of my drawers, where they can be dulled (not to mention cut my finger off if I'm not paying attention). It looks great, and was easy to install (provided you have a power drill, which every household should have!)
My only complaint is that the anchors included did not work for drywall, which I'm guessing is what most kitchen walls are comprised of. I used some higher quality metal anchors, and it is rock solid even though I didn't put it in a stud.

After viewing countless Apartment Therapy house tours glorifying the benefits of magnetic knife holders, I decided it was time to get one for my very small kitchen. I wasn't particularly in love with MIU nor did I give much thought as to size prior to receiving it, however, I was sold the moment my boyfriend installed it on the wall. It's lovely to look at, the size is just right (although I wouldn't mind it longer) and has plenty of room to store knives and tools (5 knives and two tongs so far).
It's probably wise to get your own anchors for extra security.

I guess I didn't look closely enough at the little photo, but I wasn't expecting such a busy design that is also quite obtrusive to my eyes, very shiny stainless against very black plastic or whatever the dark stuff is underneath the metal. And all those cutouts look like a nightmare to clean. Just in case anybody else out there was wanting something plain and simple for their wall, and not getting how unnecessarily jazzy this one is. I can't decide whether to hang it up in the kitchen as intended, or give it to hubby for the garage. Nice magnet, though. He'll love it.Customer Review: Great buy, easy to install, strong magnet!

After surfing through the Amazon.com reviews, I decided to buy one. It's the perfect length. It was easy to install. The anchors that came with the product was strong enough to hold the strip securely on my sheetrock wall. It's strong enough to hold my cleaver, scissors and the rest of my standard knife set in a horizontal configuration. I've read that most other knife strips can only hold knives in a veritical configuration. I love this product! It cleared up so much kitchen counter space for preparing food and it looks organized and great. Worth the price!Customer Review: looks great and knives stick

It looks great with all our other stainless steel products.
The magnetic parts seem to be the top and bottom rails but it is pretty strong, all the metal knives and scissors we've thrown on it has stayed.
The one problem was with the anchors that came with it, there were no instructions as to what size they are or how big a hole to drill for them. The first hole I made was a little too small, so I made it bigger and the whole thing fell inside the wall. I had to use my own anchors and it is attached to the wall pretty well.
