I received this garlic press today, and immediately returned it. I'm not sure what Amazon is trying to pull here, but the packaging is very cheap plastic clamshell, with a plain black piece of paper inside that only has "Stainless Steel Garlic Press" and "Made in China" printed on it. There is no MIU brand name anywhere, no manufacturer info at all, no address, etc. This did not bode well, and when I opened it up, the materials were thin and the hinge was loose. The black plastic handles are thin and uncomfortable. I share the concern of another reviewer regarding the plastic pusher - that is not good for a garlic press. The perforated inserts are stamped and thin, and it is easy to see how garlic would squeeze out the sides, as there are gaps. It just seems poorly made, and not at all what I expected. The $9.99 Ikea garlic presses are bomb-proof and really impressive, they're just very hard to clean. Selling this flimsy contraption for $13.99 is really beneath Amazon. I'm certain that this will press garlic, but I wouldn't use it for unpeeled cloves, as the screen would bend. I might pay $3.99 for this at a swap meet, but never, ever $13.99.
