Customer Review: Great can opener!

I ordered this can opener before checking the Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen equipment reviews, but I'm glad I did! Although Cook's Illustrated (Oct 2008) ranked it 6th out of 8 test models, I found it was exactly what I was looking for.
It is the simplicity of this device that makes it great. I used electric can openers for most of my life, turned off of manual openers by the difficulty to turn the knob on any I had tried. After using this opener, I am officially converted. I won't say that this is absolutely the easiest-to-turn manual opener I have tried - it's not, but it is very easy. There's no clamping to do - just set the end of the opener on the can, with the wheel over the edge, and turn the knob. When you've come full-circle, just turn the knob counter-clockwise a little to disengage. It's also nice how little space it takes up, even compared to some other manual openers.
Some of the other openers I looked at toted things like "lid-lifters" - this isn't necessary with this opener since the lids can't fall into the can. I also noticed another reviewer was worried about having to hold the can while turning the opener - I haven't ever found this to be an issue. I've been using this opener for about 6 months now and have used it for everything from very small diameter lids on tomato paste, to wide lids on yams, to short cans of tuna, and it has worked fine on all of them; just set the can on the counter like you would with any other opener.
I did upload pictures of the packaging insert, and hopefully the diagram on the back side of the insert will help clarify how the opener works. Rather than cutting through the lid (as most openers do), it breaks the seal that holds the lid onto the can. The result is no sharp edges, and a lid that you can usually pop back on if you want to only use part of a can and stick the rest in the fridge for a couple days.
(A side note: Unlike my MIU measuring cups, which are stamped "Made in France" with the MIU logo, the can opener itself bears no manufacturer logo or indication of origin. The packaging, however, says it's made in Taiwan by a company called "DI-2000, Inc". This hasn't been an issue for me, but I wanted to point it out as a matter of "truth in advertising".)
Pros:

Cons:
- Lack of directions. This is pretty negligible though. Play with it for a few minutes and you'll figure it out.
