Customer Review: Heavier than I expected for bamboo

I originally bought the smaller version of this board, the MIU France Mini Butcher Board and really like it. I assumed from the lightweight quality of that board that this one would be a lightweight, albeit larger version of the mini, so somewhat heavier. To me, it feels substantially heavier. A lot of people may like this quality in the board, but I wanted something easier to move around.

* Weight of board may be a factor for those looking for a lightweight board
* The larger sizes of these boards have a history of cracking
* MIU France sticker hard to remove
It is an attractive choice for an 11 1/4" square cutting board. You'll need to keep it oiled per the manufacturer's care instructions. I like Joyce Chen's Bamboo Wood Oil or you can save money and just buy a generic mineral oil (it's the same thing). This board is an eco-friendly choice as it is made from a renewable resource, bamboo.
I can attest that the MIU France sticker, used on all sizes of their boards, is hard to remove. I purchased Un-Du Adhesive Remover to remove it from my mini. It did not leave any smell. But it did cause a small part of the mini to warp. If you don't remove the sticker using an adhesive remover, I feel it would be very difficult to entirely remove the sticker and you may have to live with some glue residue on your board.
When looking for a larger cutting board to complement the mini, I originally bought the MIU France Large Bamboo Cutting Board, but it arrived broken in half. I then bought the same board in the medium size (this one). The "medium" is the same size as the "small" here on Amazon.
I returned mine, but I kept the mini, which is the one I reach for the most.
