I bought these for my mom for Christmas. She has been looking for a good set of metal measuring cups for about 20 years. With her old set, the metal handles were thin and fell off 20 years ago (Yeah, she's that picky). So when I saw these, I knew they would work. When she got them, she loved them! They washed nice in the dishwasher, even though she told me to hand wash them (sorry mom). My sister also tried to steal them, since her plastic set had the numbers washed off.
The best thing about this set is the 2/3 and 3/4 cups. That is what makes this set so valuable to our families. We are big bakers, and these two are crucial for us. Definately something I recommend for any serious kitchen baker.

I bought this over some other sets because I wanted the additional cups. It is replacing a 20+ year old tupperware set that also had the odd sized cups so I didn't want to give them up. It is an attractive set but I would agree with some of the other comments that it is not as heavy as I would have liked. I bought the CIA measuring spoon set at the same time and it appears to be heavier and better made, but this is still a nice set and the odd sized cups make it well worthwhile. I have no problem getting my set to nest and the exterior is very bright and shiny. In fact, the set is so pretty I find myself taking extra care of it; gone are the days of slinging them around! Maybe once the newness wears off......Customer Review: No others come close

This set is the most comprehensive, well made set I've ever had. I bought these 2 years ago after I read a positive review in Cooks Illustrated and I've used them weekly- they're showing minimal wear. They are far superior to plastic & other stainless measuring cups I've bought at the grocery for 5$, only to have to throw them away after a year because I can no longer read the markings. Buy the measuring spoon sets too!
Pros: sturdy construction, durable, permanently well-labeled, dishwasher safe, nest inside one another, great balance & weight (especially when full with liquids), long handles for easy grasp
Cons: I wish this set came with the 2 c. measure you can buy in the 3 pc. set

since the company was founded in HongKong in 1978 and then moved to the mainland 18 years later. Having put the ethinicity thing to rest, I will say that both these and the measuring spoons are heavy-weight and of excellent quality. I also like the larger than average variety (7 vs the typical 5-cup set). I would still give AllClad (which is French but made in the USA)the edge, but you will pay a hefty premium for AllClad.
06/14/06 Update: I noted the 5-piece set (excluding the 2/3 and 3/4 cup measures) was priced at only $11.99. $14 additional for the aforementioned 'odd' sizes seems a bit too much. I recommend the buyer check out the 5-piece set first.

I bought these to have a nice set of measuring cups that won't melt in my dishwasher. They are spacesaving, and they feel good when you hold them in your hand. Very pleased with my purchase. And the set looks so nice, I had to hang them from a hook where they will be seen instead of putting them with the rest of my measuring and baking items.
I am planning on buying a set for all my family and my inlaws for Christmas. And they will know they are getting the best because I only buy something and give it away if the item has met a certain standard that I set for all my baking needs, as I bake on a daily basis only go for the best when it comes to baking needs
