This is a finely crafted kitchen tool. I use it mostly to flatten chicken breasts for grilling. I found it works well for other cutlet preparation as well.
The construction is solid, with no groves or other surface breaks that can harbor bacteria. It is easy to clean.
Workmanship is such that it could be an object of art.
It's heavy enough that you let the tool do the job, you do not have to pound. You merely drop your hand. The ergonomics are great: Rather than a hammer style pounder, this is a device you grab with a fist and lower to the surface with a natural arm movement.
It is finely finished (rounded edges) so that the meat doesn't tear if the blow is a bit off axis. It is even pleasing to hold this pounder in one's hand. If you want a great kitchen tool for flattening meat, you won't be disappointed if you choose this one.

Stainless Steel Meat PounderThis 18/10 stainless-steel meat pounder flattens chicken breasts to a uniform ¼-inch thickness for Chicken Parmesan or pounds beef to an almost transparent thinness for carpaccio. The pounder?s hefty 2.2-pound weight does most of the work with little effort on the chef?s part. This meat pounder has a 3-1/4-inch pounding surface and a 4-inch-tall handle that is comfortable but, considering the pounder?s smooth polished mirror finish, could get a little bit slippery.
